EFE 1/76 RMC Routemaster Greenline (31701)

The RMC origins date back to June 1957 when London Transport took delivery of CRL4, this fourth and final prototype Routemaster had an ECW body designed specifically for use on the Green Line network. The most notable outward difference affected the rear which was modified to allow the fitting of electrically operated platform doors. CRL4 entered service in October 1957 on route 721, after some early teething problems were sorted out the bus moved from Romford to High Wycombe where it took up duties on route 711. Public reaction to the bus was favourable resulting in London Transport ordering 68 Park Royal bodied vehicles in 1961, originally it was planned that these would be called the CR class (Coach Routemaster) however this was changed to RMC before the first one were delivered in 1962.The batch RMC1453 to 1520 were very similar to the prototype expect for the front layout which apart from twin headlamp's was to the then standard RM design. The first buses entered service on route 715 operated by Guildford Garage on August 29th 1962. The rest of the class quickly followed resulting in a total of 8 routes being converted to the type.CRL4's frontal area was eventually modified to match the production vehicles and the bus was classified RMC4 however it remained unique as only Routemaster not carry a Park Royal Vehicles built body.

EFE 1/76 RMA Routemaster London Transport (31801)

The first prototype Routemaster made it's debut in 1954, this new vehicle was designed by LT and was intended to build on the success of the earlier RT, RM1 originally appeared with a solid front grille, however by the time it and the second prototype finally entered passenger service in 1956, both had received a revised front radiator grille that bore a closer resemblance to the actual production vehicles. The Routemaster was the successor to the RT, and like in predecessor it was designed by London Transport to handle the rigors of service in the capital. The first production vehicles entered service in 1959, replacing trolleybuses at Popular and West Ham garages. In all over 2100 standard length Routemasters entered service between 1959 and 1964.

Corgi 1/76 AEC Q Single Deck Bus London Transport Civil Defence Mobile Gas Unit (OM41010)

In 1932 there suddenly appeared on the London streets a revolutionary new design with a full front and seats in the position where orthodox passenger vehicles had engines. An entirely new design of chassis was evolved by AEC at Southall, with the engine posistioned on the offside frame member behind the front axle. After the success of the single deck Q with L.G.O.C and provincial operators, the L.P.T.B ordered 102 4Q4 type for Country Area bus work which entered service throughout 1935. Although far ahead if its time, the Q Type was only in production for 4 years but it paved the way for the underfloor engined type so much in evidence today. In August 1952, Q75 was withdrawn from normal passenger work and converted for use by the service fleet as a training vehicle for Civil Defence exercises, in which capacity it was converted into a mobile gas unit. It was renumbered in May 1954 to Q1035CD.

Corgi 1/76 MCW Metrobus MkI DD London Transport (OM45118)

The Metrobus manufactured by Metropolitan Cammell Weymann in Birmingham, was the next volume purchase by London Transport of new double deck buses after the DMS. With LT running Metropolitans from the same manufacturer, they took a demonstrater on loan at the end of 1977. This resulted in a trial of 5 vehicles running in 1978/9 that was first succesul so orders were placed for a significant numbers that were progressively introduced from 1979. The production vehicles could be distinguished from the trial vehicles as they had smaller, Routemaster style, blind boxes. LT considered the MkII version by trialling a pair against Leyland Olympian, Dennis Dominator and Volvo B55 types. A third Metrobus MkII was also due for delivery as a MkIII prototype but never materialised, like the MkIII Metrobus itself. Apart from a number of single door MkII's for Harrow and a few secondhand vehicles bought from the north of England the LT fleet was all MkI with the asymmetrical widscreen design. The LT Metrobus fleet went on to total 1,485 with LT becoming the biggest customer for the Metrobus, even beating West Midlands Travel in whose territory the Metrobus was built. M331 ended its London sevice running for London General.

Corgi 1/76 Enviro 400 Olympic 2012 Handover Bus (OM49801)
The Handover of the Olympic Flag is an exciting rite of passage for Olympic and Paralympic cities, symbolising the transfer of games organising and planning responsibilities to the next Host City. During the Beijing 2008 Closing Ceremony, the Olympic Flag was handed by Mayor of Beijing, Guo Jinlong, to the President of the International Olympic Committee, Jacques Rogge and then onto the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson. London last held the Olympics in 1948 and the 31st October 2009 marks 1,000 days to go until the Games 2012. Following the formal Handover of the flag, our 1:76 scale replica reproduces the iconic London Bus built by British manufacturer Alexander Dennis. The Enviro 400 bus played a significant part of a spectacular cultural performance during the Closing Ceremony in Beijing, which heralded the start of the four year countdown to the next Olympic Games in London.

Sunstar/Chrono 1/24 RM 1983 VLT95 50th Anniversary LT Routemaster Bus Gold (2911)

In 1983, London Transport celebrated its 50 th Anniversary by decorating four buses in special liveries. Titans T747, M57 and T66 were repainted in the old “General” livery but RM1983 was repainted all over in gold, the appropriate colour for a Golden Anniversary. It carried no advertising, just the slogan “We`ve been together now for 50 years” on both sides, and the special 50 th Anniversary logo in white. The gold RM1983 entered service on April 30 th at Thornton Heath Garage in the Croydon operating district, and then visited all eight operating districts.until it was repainted red in February 1984.
2911 faithfully reproduces RM1983 on Route 190, exactly as it was as it left Thornton Heath garage on its first day of service.

Corgi 1/76 East Lancs Myllenium London United (OM42518)

London United began as London United Tramways in the early 1900s. They were bought out by Stanwell Buses Ltd (Westlink) from London Transport in 1995 and by Trandev in 1997. They once operated trams (until 1933) and trolleybuses (until 1952). The name was reincarnated when London United Busways set up as a subsidary of London Buses during the late 80s. Upon privatisation in 1994, it was purchased by a management buyout and remained London United. In 1997 the bus company was puchased by French transport group Transdev. London United operates approxmately 60 routes on contract to Tfl (Transport for London) and employs around 2000 staff.

Creative Master Northcord 1/76 Scania Omnicity Metrobus Diecast Bus Model (UKBUS 7005)

Operator: Metrobus
Fleet Number:  543
Registration: YN05 HFG
Destination: X26 Heathrow

In October 2004, London Buses awarded Metrobus the contract to operate route X26, with effect from the following April. A limited stopping service between Croydon and Heathrow Airport, this replaced most of route 726, one of the last former Green Line services to operate across. South London, which had most recently been operated by Tellings Golden Miller. With 28 Scania OmniCities already in the Metrobus fleet for Fastway services in Crawley and also for Orpington route 358, this type of vehicle was an obvious choice. Fleet number 543 represents the batch of five purchased, which differ from the other batches in being single door and have additional luggage racks to cater for the high number of tourists / air passengers using the route. This batch of vehicles was the first to be delivered new in allover red and with the now familiar silver logos, as had already been seen on the latest repaints for TfL contracts. The batch moved from the former East Surrey depot at South Godstone, to the new depot in Croydon, in February 2006.

Metroline became the last operator of Metrobuses in London with three due to run on the last day M 1076, 1197 and 1250. Operator: Metroline
Fleet Number:  TE681
Registration: LK55 KKP
Destination: 24 Hampstead Heath

Metroline is part of the Singapore based ComfortDelgro group and operates, together with its Armchair and Thorpes subsidiaries, nearly 1200 buses in North, North West, West and Central London employing nearly 4000 staff. TE681 is one of a batch of 28 10.1metre Dennis Tridents with the striking new Enviro400 bodywork delivered to Metroline in the winter of 2005/6. Metroline was the first London bus company to place an order for vehicles to this brand new design. One of the main advantages of the new lower deck layout was an increase in the number of seats available. The buses are mainly used on the high profile Central London Route 24 running between Hampstead Heath and Pimlico.
