The replacement for now out classed Meteor and Vampire fighters was suffering many development problems, so the appearance early in the Korean War of the Soviet MiG-15 forced the RAF to acquire the North American Sabre. The RAF's Sabres were built in Canada and most were based in Germany as part of NATO's 2nd Allied Tactical Air Force. Model Wingspan 157mm
