 more | Corgi 1/144 Boeing 707-336C British Airways (AA32903)
British Airway's Boeing 707s were inherited from BOAC when it merged with BEA on 1st April 1974. The first 15 of the type were ordered in 1956, entering service between London and New York on a thrice weekly basis from the 6th June 1960. By 1965 extra capacity necessitated the purchase of two 707-336C's for cargo use. With the formation of British Airways on 1st April 1974, G-AYLT was repainted in the livery carried by this model. It has been with Simba Air Cargo of Kenya since 1995. A superb model.

It was through BOAC's many changes in their orders that G-ARVM became the last of the BOAC's 'Standard' VC-10's. When production of the VC10 commenced the order book listed 15 Standard VC10's and 30 Super VC10's for BOAC, both numbers had changed many times. In December 1961 the contract was once more amended to reduce the numbers to 12 Standard and 20 Supers but another result of this change was that the already planned c/n's 816, 817 and 818 to be registered as -VN, -VO and -VP would not be built which automatically made G-ARVM the last Type 1101 Standard VC10
