The Typhoon is an agile, single seat, multi role aircraft optimised for high altitude supersonic air combat but also capable of operating at much lower levels in the air- to -ground roles. It was built by a four nation consortium comprised of companies from UK, Germany, Italy and Spain. No.29 Squadron began reforming on the Typhoon in the late 2003 at Warton, Lancs, and has since moved to their permanent base at RAF Coningby, Lincs

14th FG were activated on 15th January 1942, they flew P-38's to the United Kingdom via the northern ferry route.They fought with the 12th Air Force in North Africa and later with the 15th Air Force in Italy on bomber escort duties.Col.Taylor kept his P-38J with the 49th FS during his time as CO of the 14th FG.There is no record he scored any victories in this particular fighter, although Wilson H.Oldhouse claimed an FW 190 while flying it on 11th June 1944.Taylor was struck down with polio and transferred out of the group on the 17th July,command being transferred to Col.Daniel Campbell

It was not until the Battle of Britain that the JU88's took part in a number of daylight actions against British radar stations, airfields and ports, in then opening phases of the Battle of Britain .The Ju88A-1 was the main varient used and possesed a good performance, was reasonably manoeuvrable for its size and could take a great deal of punishment.However its lack of armoured protection and insufficient defensive armament meant it was relatively easy prey for RAF fighters

815 Naval Air Squadron formed at Worthy Down in October 1939 from the remnants of 811and 822 squadrons surviving the sinking of HMS Courageous in September 1939, and disbanded in November 1939.The same C/O L/C S.Borrett, RN reformed the squadron later that month with 9 Swordfish.In April 1940 the squadron was attached to RAF Coastal Command at Bircham Newton in May 1940 the squadron provided support for the Dunkirk evacuation. In November 1940 the entire squadron took part in the attack on the Italian fleet at Taranto

In April 1941, 205 Squadron received its first Catalina and one of their aircraft had the distinction of being the first british aircraft shot down in the Pacific war when sent out to shadow a Japanese invasion convoy.Yhe squadron was engaged in trying to locate Japanese naval forces on their way to invade Malaya and the Dutch East Indies.After losing several boats, it moved to Java at the end of the year from its exposed base at Seletar, when Japanese forces landed it retired to the south coast of the island and in March 1942 to Australia, where it disbanded on 31st March 1942 Model wingspan 440mm,

The Vampire was a first generation jet fighter which saw service in the immediate post-war period with Royal Air Force front-line fighter squadrons in the United Kingdom and Germany, followed by further service with the Royal Auxiliary Air Force. During the early part of WWII, the Squadron and its Lysanders were based in Palestine, but detached aircraft to the Western Desert until 1941 when Hurricanes were on strength. Further action in the Desert on anti-tank duties continued from 1942 until the end of the North African campaign. After converting to rocket-firing Hurricanes in 1944, the Squadron moved to Italy and flew the remainder of the War over the Balkans. A brief stint in Palestine after the War was followed by a move to Cyprus with Tempests. During 1948 the unit received Vampires and a series of moves around the Middle East followed before finally arriving back in Cyprus with Venoms.

During its service many variants of the Ju52/3m were produced including the g5e and the later g7e, which was the major production version.An improved radio identified the Ju 52/3mg6e.While the g7e had a wider loading door and an increased loaded weight and could be fitted with an alternative wheel, float or ski undercarriage, additionally the 7e featured automatic pilot.The final production versions were the g8e, 9e and 10e and featured increased cabin window size and a 13mm machine gunin a dorsal position
